BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS
These terms and conditions are the
‘small print’, the bit which is rarely read in advance of bookings, and even
though this is similar to the standard wording used in many hotels and
guesthouses, we really recommend that you take the time to read it.
BOOKING TERMS
These ‘Booking Terms &
Conditions’ are between Channel View (Boutique)Hotel and the person or legal
entity making the booking. These Booking Terms are governed by English Law and
apply to all Bookings.
By making a Booking you are deemed to
accept and be bound by these Booking Terms and Conditions. A legal contract between you and us comes
into effect when we accept a reservation from you, you must be able to enter
into a legally binding contract and be over the age of 21 years to make a
Booking.
We will accept a reservation when we
have confirmed your reservation and received either: (a) full payment of the total
price; or (b) payment of a non-refundable deposit of £100 per room per week;
(c) a preauthorisation of the full amount of your reservation against the payment
card details given by you for that
purpose; or (d) any other amount we have specified at the time of your booking,
depending on the rate plan or promotion agreed.
When your booking is confirmed, a
reservation number is given in your booking confirmation. This number must be
retained for access to your booking details if cancellation or modification is
necessary.
PRICING, PROMOTIONS & CANCELLATIONS
Prices quoted are correct (unless a
pricing error occurs) and include a free breakfast, but do not include any
other costs you may choose to incur during your stay.
All prices advertised include VAT
where applicable at the current rate, should the VAT rate change your price
will be the same.
From time to time promotions and
discounts will be reviewed and may be added, withdrawn or changed without
notice, all promotions only apply to stay of two nights or more.
Published offers cannot be used in
conjunction with each other or with any other promotion or discount, unless
otherwise stated.
Direct Bookings
We like to reward guests for booking
direct with the Channel View. If this is your first stay at the Channel View,
your booking will attract a ‘Direct Booking’ discount of 5%.
If you are a returning guest, you are
entitled to a ‘Valued Customer’ discount of 10%.
All direct bookings will require a
non-refundable £100 deposit per room, per week, at the time of booking.
These bookings may be modified up to
30 days in advance of the arrival date. You may modify your booking once free
of charge, any subsequent modifications will incur a £25 administration charge.
If bookings are cancelled within 30
days before your expected arrival date, the total reservation amount will
become due.
Online Travel Agency Bookings
Bookings made through an online
travel agency such as Booking.com, will require valid payment card details to
be given at the time of booking. We reserve the right to pre-authorise these
cards for the full reservation amount at any stage before your arrival date,
but at least 30 days in advance.
These bookings may be modified up to
30 days in advance of the arrival date, an administration charge of £25 will be
due.
If bookings are cancelled within 30
days before your expected arrival date,
the total reservation amount will become due.
Dinner, Bed and Breakfast Bookings
Evening meals will either be provided
using a daily Table D’Hote Menu, or by providing credit to be used against the
main menu. If the restaurant is closed for any reason, a refund or credit will
be given.
Pre-booked meals form part of your
reservation, and meals not taken will still be charged for.
Non-Refundable Bookings
Bookings made on a non-refundable basis
will be entitled to a 15% discount (when booked at least 30 days in advance of
the date of expected arrival). Full
payment is taken when booked.
These bookings cannot be modified or
cancelled.
We strongly recommend that you take
out travel insurance to cover your stay.
PAYMENT
The full balance is usually due to be
paid by you to us on check-in, or at an earlier date if so requested by direct
communication between you and us for example in the case of non-refundable
booking. Any deposit paid and any balance owing is stated in your booking
confirmation, and will be sent to the email address we hold for you.
On arrival you will be asked for
valid credit card details which will be held temporarily and used for inhouse
purchases at the bar or restaurant, and damage guarantee.
We accept payment in cash, credit or
debit card. If you wish to use a bank transfer, please request details at the
relevant stage.
Unfortunately we do not accept
personal cheques or American Express. All prices are quoted in Pounds Sterling.
It is important to read these terms and conditions at the time of the
reservation, as policies (including cancellation) may differ.
When you make a payment using a credit card, Anglo-Dutch Enterprises Ltd (or our trading name Channel View Hotel) will be displayed as the merchant of record.
CHILDREN & PETS
Accompanied young adults over the age
of 16 may stay with their parents or legal guardian.
As we have a lovely, very old dog
ourselves, we have made a decision not to accept dogs or other pets in the
foreseeable future.
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
Photo ID will be required for all
guests at check-in, and passports for those non-UK residents.
Rooms are available from 16.30. As we
are a relatively small establishment, we request that guests let us know in
advance what time you aim to arrive, and if you are delayed please give us a
call and we can arrange a later check-in.
Departure time is before 10.00am on
your last day to allow our Housekeeper to prepare the room for the next guests.
Late check-outs up to 12.00 may be booked in advance for a charge of £25 per
room, similarly early check-ins may be available if booked in advance.
Direct Bookings Only
As a thank you for booking with us
directly, we will offer you an earlier check-in time of 15.00, or a half-price
early check-in after 12.00, if pre-booked.
PARKING
We are aware that parking is a
premium in Paignton, and our guests are lucky to have access to 10 free parking
spaces on our forecourt. However there is free parking on the road outside of
the hotel too.
Users of the car park do so at their
own risk, the management does not accept responsibility for damage, accident or
loss. We do ask guests to be respectful of other guests and to leave their
registration number at reception and be prepared to move their car to allow
another guest to get their car out. Spaces cannot be booked or guaranteed.
OTHER INFORMATION
Whilst we endeavour to supply your
first choice of accommodation we reserve the right to change the room if and
where necessary. If the differential is less than the original value of your
booking a refund of the difference will be made to you.
We do not accept bookings for large
single sex groups; under 21’s travelling unaccompanied by an over 21, or
Hen/Stag parties. Extra visitors are not allowed in guest rooms.
In exceptional circumstances, we
reserve the right to cancel a booking, before arrival, with a full refund at
any time.
We also reserve the right to
terminate your stay without being liable for any refund or compensation when
discomfort or distress is caused to other guests, or staff. or when damage is
caused to hotel property.
There is a Guest Information Folder
in each room, which contains hotel and local information relating to travel and
attractions, this is also downloadable on our website. We produce these folders
to help our guests, but hold no responsibility for keeping this information up
to date or make personal recommendations.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
All our guest rooms are equipped with
luxurious Hypo-Allergenic goose feather and down duvets and pillows. If you
would prefer polyester or memory foam, please book this in advance of your
stay.
To support our environmental policy,
we will only change your bedlinen if you are staying with us for longer than a
week. You are welcome to have your linen changed more often, but there is a £25
charge for each additional change.
We also ask guests to consider the
environment when deciding whether a change of towels is necessary. If you leave
your towels on the floor or in the bottom of your shower, our Housekeeper will
change them when she services your room. If you are happy to reuse them, please
hang them on the towel rails supplied to dry.
If you have a food allergy or
intolerance, please give us as much notice as possible in advance of your stay
so that we may consider alternatives. Some preferences may also be able to be
catered for, but again, the more notice we have the easier this will be.
Whilst we will endeavour to ensure that
suitable alternatives are found for most allergies or intolerances, however, if
your allergy is severe enough to require medical intervention you should be
aware that all food will be prepared in the same kitchen and the avoidance of
cross-contamination cannot be guaranteed.
Our balconies and Upper Deck Terrace
will close at 22.30 out of respect for our neighbours and other guests, there
may be times of the day when the Terrace is only open to those dining with us.
Only food and drink bought from the Channel View Hotel can be consumed in all
public areas.
We ask guests to dress appropriately
when walking through the hotel, or using the Terrace, bathing suits should not
be worn.
DAMAGES
For the comfort of our guests, we are
a smoke-free hotel. Smoking or vaping of any type (including e-cigarettes),
cigars and candles are not permitted whilst in the Hotel, on balconies, or on
the front terrace. You may smoke at the bottom of the carpark but please
dispose of your cigarette ends responsibly.
Please note that we do not allow
cooking in your room, or hot food such as take-aways to be brought in.
All damages will be charged to the payment
card we hold on file for you, including a deep cleaning fee or loss of business
should a room need to be closed while repairs take place. If you are mid-stay,
we will ask you to leave the property immediately.
PRIVACY
The only information that we collect from
you is that which is necessary for the processing/verifying
of your booking or occasional notification of future offers unless you have
specifically requested not to do so. We will not give, sell or swap your
details with any third party companies.
We will process the information you
provide to us in accordance with the relevant data protection legislation. When booking online, your personal data may be
retained by our Online Booking Partner Eviivo limited (registered Office 154
